Supporting the Chicago Suburbs as a Birth Doula with experience and care for 16 years

In addition to having five children of her own, Heather Karlson has been DONA-trained and recertified multiple times since 2010. She has supported over 500 births in all settings: hospital, birth center, and homebirths.

Heather also offers Birth Education, a Birth Refresher course for repeat families, and new Doula mentorship.

Heather has been trained in Spinning Babies multiple times, Birth Photography, Infant loss and bereavement, MEAC (Midwifery Education Accreditation Council)‘s ‘First Six Weeks’ Postpartum Care and Birth Emergencies.

The Karlson family has been a newborn foster care home for ECFA (Evangelical Child and Family Agency) and Heather completed the 6 World Major marathons with Team World Vision.

She has her BS from Hope College, Holland, Michigan (2002) and her Masters Degree from National-Louis University (M.ED) in Curriculum and Instruction (2005). Heather homeschooled her children up until high school. They are currently 6-20 years old, all born with midwives (hospital & home).
