About me…

Prenatal. Birth. Postpartum.

I have been a DONA® Trained Doula for 13 years and have supported hundreds of births. I consider it a great honor to be allowed into such a special space.

New parents need a team of solid support. They need to feel educated, empowered, listened to, and safe. Parents need to know they have choices and that there is quality information and support available.

What is a doula?

As a mother of five (ages 4-18) and now doula for 13 years, my heart’s desire is to guide and support you prenatally through postpartum and help you adjust during this life transition.

Practically, this includes prenatal talks and texts, and prenatal assignments and handouts to help you prepare, physical and emotional support in labor, birth photography, and postpartum care.

I am familiar to many OB’s and midwives in the area, and I maintain a strong network including chiropractors, massage therapists, lactation consultants, birth instructors, and more. A doula is one part of your birthing team.

Personal Bio…

I grew up in Minnesota, went to college in Michigan and got my Masters Degree here in Illinois. I have been married since 2003. Together, we have 5 children: 3 boys and 2 girls. I live in West Chicago, and I serve families all over the Chicago area suburbs.

My personal birth stories involve 2 hospital births, then 2 home births, and then our fifth child was also going to be born at home but instead surprised with a premature labor, weeks of bedrest and birth out of state. My husband and I spent 11 days navigating the NICU and relied on the support of many. My birth stories have given me strength and also have been challenging. They have shaped me both as a mom and doula.

In my spare time, you can find me reading, running, teaching, or traveling.
